In-Home Energy Survey

An In-Home Energy Survey is a visual inspection of your home’s energy usage. This survey does not use any diagnostic testing equipment- i.e. blower door testing, infrared thermal imaging and combustion analysis. The purpose of the survey is to evaluate the basic energy use of your home. We will examine 7 keys areas in the home:

  • Building Shell - this will include the windows, doors and insulation.
  • HVAC System - the type and size of your HVAC and inspect the duct system
  • Major Appliances
  • Lighting efficiency
  • Comfort complaints
  • Visible moisture issues
  • Visible health and safety issues

During the In-Home Energy Survey, we will examine your utility bills to help find low-cost retro-fits for possible energy savings. Your report will give you information on your homes energy usage, and a list of basic recommendations for improving the home's energy efficiency. We will give you information on any incentive programs that you may qualify for. The survey will take approximately one to two hours.
